Before I built this company, I served as a U.S. Army Green Beret with 5th Special Forces Group. I spent years operating in environments where chaos was normal, information was incomplete, and decisions carried real consequences. In those places, I learned a simple truth that still holds everywhere else:

In moments of danger, you don't rise to the occasion—you fall back on your preparation.

In 2024, that truth followed me home. While protecting my family during a violent incident, I sustained a life-altering injury. There was no perimeter. No backup. No perfect information. Just seconds, stress, and responsibility. What mattered in that moment wasn't equipment or technology—it was mindset, awareness, and the ability to act calmly under pressure.

That experience changed how I view security in American neighborhoods. Most communities do the best they can with the tools they're offered: cameras, signs, and policies. Those tools have value—but they are incomplete on their own.

Cameras record what happens. They don't prevent it. Technology helps after the fact. Preparation helps before.
